I saw Steve at the 50th. Far as I can figure, he was the oldest member of our class. Too many leaving, too soon. RIP, sir.

Sorry to hear that my old buddy from One Block West passed. He was a down to earth and fun guy.

In high school Steve always had a colorful joke and we laughed alot. I worked at Routh Music Center on the Landing. Routh closed the business in April, '67 and Steve came to me when he found out. He got me on at Robo-Wash in the shipping room where he continued making me laugh. After graduation I never saw Steve until the 50th where he started in on the colorful jokes and once again we laughed alot.

Steve and I were very, very  good friends and spent much time together in high school having fun, laughing and sharing stories.  We lived only one block away from each other in high school...Steve would drive us to school in his '56 Ford with "3 on the tree" ....I remember he would always "rap out" first gear ...gunning the accelerator to pass the car in the adjacent lane!  We kept up with each other for quite some time after high school with Steve in the Air Force & driving commerical trucks but drifted apart later with life's demands, and busyness. Steve drove a delivery truck for 7-up and then other companies....He  would come by to Wichita to visit..those were great times !!  I had the privelege of providing braces for his daughter, Krista...and being best man when Steve and Diane renewed their wedding vows..... I will miss him greatly and I still think about him often... the crazy, good times we spent together.
