There is little to add to the kind and generous words that others have voiced regarding Donna. Donna was gregarious, friendly and kind. She would always, always meet you with a smile.

Sadly, the class will continue to write more and more of these, but as long as the positive memories remain a part of our collective experience, it keeps Donna and the many others we have lost alive in our memories. May her life be a blessing.

Donna and I were good friends.  She was a lovely person.  I enjoyed having her here at my house, going to lunch with her, and seeing her at our monthly luncheons. I got to see her at Hospice before they took her to Mt. Moriah. I will truly miss her. May the perpetual light shine upon her. I went to Donna's memorial service on Saturday, April 22 and it was beautiful.

I knew Donna well when we both went to Bryant, and I was so pleased to reconnect with her in recent years. We shared fun times together at our monthly ladies luncheons and other social gatherings, and I will miss her stories and sense of humor. She was a kind and caring person who was loved by many. She endured a long and difficult battle with cancer, and my heart is glad that she is now at peace in her eternal home. heart

So sad and disappointed to hear the news about Donna.  Always such a happy, friendly friend with a ready smile.

I also remember Donna with fondness - even as far back as when we were both brownie scouts at Bryant.

Even in High School, Donna seemed to know what Mother Teresa believed, "Peace begins with a smile." Her kindness, intellect, contributions to classes and activities all came with her warm smile.  It sounds like she was also valiant in her struggle with cancer.  Her children and grandchildren must have had many blessings but certainly not for long enough.  May she rest in peace.

I didn't know Donna as well as many of you but I certainly remember her bright, energy filling up the room where ever she was.  Opening up my 1967 Sachem, I have over the years grown to appreciate the layout of the photo book itself; how it really tells a story about Southwest and we who inhabited it during our time there. So I shouldn't be surprised to find that Donna was on the Sachem Staff our senior year.  That amazing staff of John, Kathy, Jean, Nancy, Donna Ahearn, Lynda, Jim, Ed and Mr. Woods who together selected the layout and selected all of the photos of that year.  The final picture in the '67 Sachem says a lot, not to mention, the accompaning T.S. Elliot's poem on page 216.  The photo of Southwest late at night with only a single light on in an upper floor will forever remind of how grateful I am to have known Donna and that hard working staff who told our story and, of course, that poem who's lines ring so true for me now...

"A time for the evening under lamplight (The evening with the photo album)...In my end is my beginning."

I cherish my memory of Donna's bright, smiling face.
