Douglas "Doug" Neal Nunn
March 29, 1949 - January 6, 2022
Douglas “Doug” Neal Nunn, age 72 of Morrisville, MO, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, in his home.  He was born March 29, 1949, in Kansas City, MO, to Lyle Neal and Helen June (Caldwell) Nunn, who precede him in death.  He graduated from Southwest High School in 1967, and from SMS University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.  He was united in marriage to Carol Kabrick June 27, 1969, and to this union two children were born.
Doug worked for 3M for 35 years starting out in the factory and retired as a Lab Technician.  He loved his family, enjoyed the outdoors and considered himself as “Daniel frickin’ Boone!”  He was a great provider, having an organic garden for family to enjoy.  He was a natural outdoorsman, hunter, and a very good fisherman, and was mindful of conserving the environment.
Doug worked hard on his 40 acres with Carol to provide a haven for the family and friends to come and gather.  He took the time carving out paths and using the wood that he cut to provide warmth for his home and creating trails for family and friends to enjoy a place of peace and tranquility.
Doug is survived by his wife of 52 years Carol of the home; his two children: Christopher Nunn and his wife Brianna of Walnut Grove, MO, and Kelli Stricklin and her husband Scott of Battlefield, MO; four grandchildren: Kelsey, Brady, Ciarra, and Sophia; five great grandchildren: Kylee, Kenlee, Aadon, James, and Evelyn; one sister Leslie “Katie” Nunn of Olatha, KS; his 100 year old uncle Herbert Nunn of Katy, TX; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Larry Williams officiating.  Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.

I remember Doug from our high school days.  Larry Arlan described him to a tee.  He was indeed a friendly guy. I found it quite interesting that Doug and I would have shared so many similar interests in after college years. He on the  South end of Missouri and me on the North end.   I didn't know that he lived in the country.  Gardening , burning wood, hunting, fishing . all of it.   Just think another SW graduate living in the boonies but living his dream. Take Care Doug..
