Larry Linhardt

Larry Linhardt
July 27, 1949 - March 18, 2022
Sedona , Arizona - Larry R Linhardt, 72, of Sedona, AZ formerly of Kansas City Missouri passed away peacefully on March 18,2022 with his wife, Deborah at his side.
Larry was born in Kansas City, Mo to Roy A and Olivia K Linhardt. He graduated from Southwest High School. His many friends knew him as "Looney " for his fun and crazy personality. Larry loved art and had a unique eye to see things differently from most. Over the years he had many art shows and First Friday events in KC. After his stroke he continued his artwork even with his disability.
Larry loved to travel and he and Deborah were blessed to travel the world. Often times bringing home inspiration for his artwork.
Larry loved the Chiefs and Royals, cheering them on from Sedona and was glad that he was able to witness their World Series and Super Bowl wins.
Larry is survived by Deborah, his wife of 50 years; brother Ken Linhardt; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Teresa and Charles Bockting; nieces Amy and Sarah Bockting; great nephew Hunter Bockting; mother-in-law Jo Pritchard and many extended family and friends.
He will be missed more than words can express. He is probably already planning an art show in heaven.
Look around you and see art in everything!
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I remember Larry from Mr. Parker's drafting class. He was always a good friend.

Damn! "Looney" was one of the first people I met when I moved to K.C. in 1959. His brother, Kenny, is the same age as my brother and the four of us spent many days on 77th, just off Madison, at the Linhardt house since both Larry's parents worked. We didn't do anything we shouldn't have been doing though!

Looney was a good friend. We used to run around doing dumb things on the weekends. Rest In Peace my friend.

Larry Linhardt was a very close friend of mine through high school and for life. While we were in high school, I got him a blind date with a girl from Southeast High School (Deborah Pritchard). They continue to date and later they got married. They were married for 50 years! My heart goes out to Deborah!

POSTING THIS FOR ROBERT MILLER WHO WAS A GOOD FRIEND OF LARRY'S.  HE DID NOT GO TO SOUTHWEST, SO THIS IS WHY I AM POSTING FOR HIM.  IF YOU WISH TO CONTRACT BOB I HAVE HIS EMAIL ID.

From Robert Miller

I only recently saw this very sad notice about Larry’s passing. Although Larry and I went to different high schools we had mutual friends and ended up hanging out frequently with the same group of friends. There were four of us; Larry, Bob Mohr, Mike Freck, and myself that spent time together. Larry was mechanically gifted, but we used to laugh at the old Plymouth Valiant he drove with rusted floorboards! Larry was a wonderful peace loving human being and I don’t remember him ever losing his temper. He had a great sense of humor and a love for the music from the 60’s era, and I remember first hearing the Doors while driving around in his car. He loved their music. I knew he was also talented as an artist but never imagined it would be his career. Good for him! I knew his wife Deborah too and they were quite simply inseparable, and it sounds like they had a wonderful, happy life together. I lost track Larry and Deborah shortly after I went in the military in 1968, (no email back then), but in the years that followed I always wondered how things turned out for them. Larry was taken too soon and the world could sure used more Larry Linhards. RIP my old friend, and thanks for helping build such great teenage memories. If he’s having an art exhibition in heaven I’m sure the Door’s music is playing in the background.
