Pam was great, I remember she had horses, and we rode them from a place near Niagara Pool to Benjamin Stables, quite a ride. Anyway she a a horse and a pony, and those of you who remember Pam, she was short, and I was very tall. So she rides the horse and puts me on the pony. I am sure we looked like Mutt and Jeff. It was a long ride, and I remember mine spooking when it saw the deer at John Deere tractor, at 87th and 71 Hwy, and it took off running, with Pam in fast pursuit, and me laying on the ground laughing my head off that a pony had thrown me, when I was a barrel racer, and rode horses all the time.
Pam I hope you are looking down on all of God’s creatures.
I went with Pam on my very first "real" date. We went to the Waldo theatre to see "Ben Hur," the academy award winner for Best Picture in 1959. I remember that my dad drove us and I took Joe Garst along for security. Afterall, here was a real girl! I was scared!
That was also my last date with Pam.
She was always a sweetheart though. I was truly sorry to read of her passing.
Pam and I also road the horses to Benjamin stables. That was a really long ride. We would ditch school together as well. She was a sweet girl and a really good friend.. So very sad to know.
I had a crush on Pam in Junior HS. Thought she was cute and funny and fun. I remember when several of us were at a diner late one weekend night. I was sitting by Pam. I decided to order pancakes and started calling them Pam cakes. Thought it was so funny and I got her to laugh. She is gone far to soon. Glad she was my friend.
